The process behind the project
The project My Neighborhood is a democracy project at the City of Reykjavík that takes place every two years. The project begins with a collection of ideas, then the residents of Reykjavik can submit projects in all neighborhoods of Reykjavík. When the collection of ideas ends, it is time to review ideas. All submitted ideas are reviewed there and assessed as to whether they comply with the project's rules and are feasible. After the review, ballot line-up will take place, where 25 ideas will be put up for a vote in the districts of Reykjavík. Ideas are then prepared for the voting, and then electronic voting takes place in all districts of the city of Reykjavík. The ideas that are voted are eventually implemented.
